Low Back Pain
“There’s been an escalation of clinical and basic science research on manipulation therapy, which has shown there is a scientific basis for the treatment of back pain by manipulation. The physician who makes use of this resource will provide relief for many patients.”
Canadian Family Physician 1985; 31: 535-540.
“The treatment that Chiropractors offered for low back pain was more effective than that provided by the medical clinics.”
British Medical Journal, June2, 1990, pgs 1431-1437.
Chiropractic vs. Medicine
* “On the evidence, particularly the most scientific valid clinical
studies, spinal manipulation applied by chiropractors is shown to be more effective than alternative treatments for low back pain.”
* “Many medical therapies are of questionable validity or are clearly inadequate.”
* “Chiropractic manipulation is safer and more cost effective than medical management of low back pain.”

Sciatica & Leg Pain
“Chiropractic care appears to have the most effect on sciatica.
Unfortunately many people first seek medical care. 3,136 people with lower back and sciatica pain who had previously had physiotherapy and drugs with no positive results were given Chiropractic care. A follow up two years later showed that 50.4% had excellent results with no painful relapses, 34.4% had relapses but then responded favorably after further Chiropractic care.”

“In a group of 70 women with menstrual pain and negative gynecological findings, treatment of the spine mainly by manipulation gave excellent results.”

In 206 cases of chronic kidney disease (pyelonephritis, glomerulnephritis) they found the following pattern: movement restriction at the thoracolumbar junction (Tb-Li).

Painful Menstrual Cramps
“The patients ‘ primary areas of fixation were at the L 1 , L2, and L5 levels as well as the sacrum. Adjusting these two vertebrae and creating motion in the joints seemed to influence the exiting nerves, restoring proper nervous transmission to the uterus. This relieved the pain and distress of primary dysmenorrhea (painful menses).

Low Back Pain
“We have come to realize that every patient with low back pain also has a significant mechanical dysfunction in the cervical and thoracic spine”
